About the Role
The Department of Law at Queen Mary University of London is looking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Assistant for the project ‘Rethinking Child Law and Policy’. The successful candidate will conduct research under the Principle Investigator’s supervision.
The post is part-time, either as 0.5 FTE over 3 months or the equivalent of that (e.g., 0.25 FTE over 6 months). The exact work pattern will be determined by the post holder’s preference, subject to the Principle Investigator’s approval. The post can be done mostly remotely, but some attendance at Mile End campus may be required. The postholder will need to work within the UK and have the right to work in the UK. The expected start is 1st August 2021 or soon after.
The successful applicant must have a PhD (or equivalent) or relevant experience in Law. Candidates should have a knowledge of one or more of the following areas: international human rights law, child law or comparative law. The successful candidate will be expected to be a highly organised and motivated individual with a strong interest in learning about laws and policies relating to children at both international and national levels.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a part time, fixed-term appointment, with an expected start date of 1st August 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,220 - £36,098 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
