About the Role

Senotherapy is an exciting, emerging anti-cancer concept that offers the potential to maximise therapeutic efficiency and patient outcome. Senotherapy harnesses a new class of small molecules, called senolytics, to selectively kill senescent cells. They can be used as a follow-on to existing regimes that trigger tumour cell senescence or combined with targeted pro-senescence therapies.

Using high-throughput screening approaches, we have identified compounds that can selectively kill senescent cells.

This project aims to perform further pre-clinical validation of these compounds utilising established 2D and 3D in vitro models.

To achieve this we will utilise a spectrum of cutting-edge technologies including high-throughput high content imaging and compound screening.

About You

A graduate potentially with a MSc/MRes in a relevant area (e.g. Biology, Cancer, Drug Discovery). A background in senescence, cancer, high-throughput cell culture and high content analysis is highly desirable.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is full time and fixed-term for 1 year, with an expected start date of 1 March 2021. The starting salary will be grade 2, in the range of £22,212 - 26,346 per annum.
