The English Department seeks to make a 0.5 FTE Lecturer appointment in Creative Writing with a specialism in Prose Fiction; preference may be given to candidates who also have expertise in Publishing or in one of the Department’s other core research areas. The post-holder will be a published fiction writer with a growing international profile; they will undertake the normal teaching, research, and administrative duties expected of a member of the Department. In all areas they will be expected to show leadership appropriate to their position. The ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise, and across a range of other forms of writing at a more introductory level, is essential. The post is 17.5 hours per week and permanent, starting from 1 September 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The starting salary will be the QMUL minimum entry point for Lecturers (point 35; £41,682 per annum pro rata). Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
