Senior Lecturer in Health Economics

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in Health Economics based in the Centre for Primary Care and Public Health, shortly to become Barts Institute of Population Health Sciences, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. With over 150 staff, trainees and students, the Centre is one of the leading primary care, public health and health services research centres in the country, ranked 5th out of 32 in the 2014 REF. It hosts the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU), which is at the forefront of methodological and applied evaluative health research.

The post holder will work with Professor Borislava Mihaylova, the Chair of Health Economics, and join a growing team of health economists.  The Senior Lecturer will lead and develop a substantive area of work within the health economics team. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic health economist, passionate about developing high quality evaluative research contributing to improvements in population health, to contribute to the strategic development of health economics within the Centre and Queen Mary University of London. A higher degree in health economics or relevant subject, a strong record of previous health economics research, an established high-impact peer-reviewed publications record and evidence for independent work/leadership are essential.

This post is full-time (part-time applications will be considered) and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £53,777 to £60,019 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
