Overview:

The School of Business and Management (SBM) seeks to recruit an outstanding researcher and teacher to a lectureship in Organisation Studies/Behaviour. Experienced candidates with a strong publications record are encouraged to apply.  All applicants should have the ability to teach and supervise effectively across our main undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

School of Business and Management (SBM)

The School of Business and Management (SBM) is a research-led School that takes a humanities and social science led approach to our scholarship. We are a non-departmentalised school within QMUL’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), with its traditional strengths as a site of critical thinking in the humanities, law, history, geography and politics.

The School has been undergoing a period of rapid growth, doubling our number of academic staff over the last five years. We presently have around 75 academic and 16 administrative staff, with more appointments in process. We have over 1,000 undergraduate business management students, plus approximately 800 students taking business in combination with other degree subjects within QMUL. At the post-graduate level we have around 450 MSc students and a well-established doctoral programme of 50+ doctoral students.

Lecturer in Organisation Studies/Behaviour

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the capacity to research and publish at an internationally excellent level or higher (at least 3 in the recent REF) in the broad area of organisational studies, organisational behaviour, equality and diversity at work, employment relations, human resource management and leadership. They will be expected to contribute to teaching in areas such as general management, organisational behaviour and organisational studies.

Candidates for the lectureship should have a completed doctorate (or have a doctorate under examination) by August 2017 and be able to demonstrate the capacity for international-level research achievement.

It would be desirable, but not essential, if applicants were able to demonstrate evidence of research activities that align with the interests of existing SBM academic staff. We would also highly value experience of grant and contract research, particularly projects that have demonstrable impacts beyond academia.

The post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range £40182 - £50030 per annum inclusive of London Allowance and include 30 days annual leave, USS pension scheme membership, and interest-free travel season ticket loan.
