About the Role
Applications are sought for a Research Technician to provide comprehensive histological support for the whole of the Barts Cancer Institute (BCI) as well as external units as required.The role will be based in the Directors Office within Core Services at Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
The postholder must have a BSc or equivalent in a biological or related science. Essential requirements for this post include experience in histopathological techniques, such as tissue processing, cryotome and microtomy and H&E staining. Knowledge of laboratoy procedures, materials, equipment and supplies, infectious agents and diseases. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Campus in London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 1 year, with an expected start date of 1st December 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,733 - £40,797 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
