About the Role

In collaboration with European Thermodynamics Ltd, applications are invited for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to work under the supervision of Dr Emiliano Bilotti. The post-holder will be responsible for the main research activities of the InnovateUK-funded KiriTEG project. The overall aim is to develop self-powered wireless sensors and systems based on flexible and miniaturised organic thermoelectric generators (o-TEGs) for wireless sensor applications, at a cost compatible with mass-market consumption.

About You

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Material Science and Engineering or equivalent subjects. The candidate will also have experience in appropriate research techniques including: Polymer melt processing and solution processing; Electrical, Thermal and Thermoelectric characterisation.

About the School

This post is within the School of Engineering and Materials Science, a large School with 70-80 academics and a similar number of postdoctoral research staff. There are around 1000 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students and 220 PhD students. These are supported by an administrative and technical staff team of 45. The staff and student body are international in make-up.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 12 months, with an expected start date of February 2021. The salary will be £34,200 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
