About the Role
Applications are invited for a full-time Microscopy Facility Manager within the world-renowned William Harvey Research Institute at Barts and The London Medical School, Queen Mary University of London  (https://www.qmul.ac.uk/whri/). The appointed person will manage the microscopy facility housed within the Centre for Microvascular Research (CMR) (https://www.centre-for-microvascular-research.com). The responsibilities will include overseeing the maintenance, operation and day-to-day use of multiple fluorescent, confocal and multiphoton microscopy platforms and image analysis workstations. The candidate will establish a financially sustainable management structure for the facility, provide image analysis expertise and training for users, ensuring continuity and advancement of specialized experimental procedures and protocols. 

About You
The position would suit a highly motivated, consciences candidate with exemplary time-management skills and a PhD in a biomedical discipline, significant research experience and evidence of extensive expertise with confocal microscopy and imaging of in vitro and in vivo models. Facility management experience is advantageous.

The Centre for Microvascular Research, is an internationally respected hub of academic excellence in inflammatory and vascular research, composed of >40 staff. The Centre is based within the picturesque Charterhouse Square Campus in the heart of City of London.

This is a full-time university funded position, initially for 3 years. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,084 - £44,807 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
