Student Academic and Pastoral Support Manager

The IHSE is seeking to appoint an experienced individual to manage the Queen Mary University of London award winning Student Academic and Pastoral Support Office (SAPS). We invite individuals with experience in student support services, office and staff management, and policy and process development to apply to this exciting post. The successful applicant will lead on service delivery, develop an operational understanding of programmes in IHSE and work closely with academic, clinical and professional services staff across SMD, partner Trusts and Queen Mary University of London to ensure a seamless student service. The successful applicant will develop expertise in the University and school student support services and act as the school’s expert in utilising these mechanisms.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, empathy and high levels of professional integrity concerning student confidentiality.
Professional staff in SAPS are the first point of contact for distressed students and provide essential triage and signposting services. The successful applicant will have excellent organisational skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
This is a 3 year, full-time position based on the Whitechapel Campus. Starting salary will be in the grad 5 salary range of £38,084 - £44,807 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave per annum and a pension scheme.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
