About the Role
We’re looking for a Head of Web Development who will work with the Head of Digital Communications and Planning, to understand and plan for strategic institutional and team goals. This role is responsible for the strategic leadership of the technical development and maintenance of Queen Mary’s website and related web presence, ensuring that the University’s web presence is informed by user need and meets supports the objectives of the University. It is also responsible for the leadership of user experience (UX) across digital channels.
Your skills and experience have helped you to make a difference in your career, perhaps within a fast-moving agency, within the public sector or at a charity or an NGO. You are used to building and leading technical teams who sit within a non-technical group or wider team. You’re ready for your next step where you can use your strategic skills and experience of agile project environments to lead a team who make a real difference to the world at Queen Mary.

You will join a forward-thinking solution focused Web team within the Marketing and Communications Directorate. Our directorate is responsible for raising the awareness and reputation of Queen Mary among its target audiences, and for increasing the quality and quantity of Queen Mary applicants. We collaborate with stakeholders, we support staff, students and prospective students to achieve more.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time permanent appointment, with an expected start date of December 2020. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £47,325 - £52,833 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
