About the Role

Applications are sought for a Research Technician to contribute to the follow up functional studies of candidate genes from large scale genomic studies.

The successful candidate should be a self-motivated individual with laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology.

About the Institute

The William Harvey Research Institute, has a strong and growing group working in translational genomics within the Centre of Clinical Pharmacology. This Technician post is set to maintain and further strengthen this priority research line in the WHRI through her/his providing of the highest-quality research in genomic medicine focusing on neurological disorders. This post is part of a collaboration between Professor Mark Caulfield, chief scientist of Genomics England, Professor Henry Houlden, co-lead of the Neurology GeCIP domain (https://www.genomicsengland.co.uk/about-gecip/gecip-domains/) and Dr Arianna Tucci, an academic clinical geneticist specialized in neurological diseases.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is part time (18.5 hours per week), fixed term appointment for two years. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,084 - £44,807 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
