About the Role
A Postdoctoral Research Assistant is available to develop Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods for monitoring changes in individuals based on language use and a combination of heterogeneous mobile phone data. This includes patterns of speech, sleep and mobility in the context of the project Mobile Sensing of Altered EveryDay Function in Early Alzheimer’s Disease (MEDEA). The role involves close collaboration with colleagues at Cambridge, UCL and the Alan Turing Institute.
Candidates must have a PhD in Computer Science, NLP, Machine Learning or a related field. You should have substantial knowledge of Natural Language Processing methods preferably with experience in representation learning, low resource learning and multi-modal data. An appropriate publication record, with experience in machine learning techniques is essential, whereas familiarity with temporal modeling and working with multi-modal, heterogeneous or small data would be an advantage.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time position (35 hours per week) for 22 months or until 31 Aug 2022 (whichever is shorter). The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,220 - £36,098 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
