About the Role

The Research Degrees Officer post provides a professional, specialised service to research degree students and relevant staff, including: advising on regulations and policies; managing student records, examinations and studentships; and contributing to the development and improvement of RDO policies, procedures and projects. 

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in higher education administration, including a detailed knowledge and understanding of the structure of research degree programmes, experience in interpreting complex academic regulations and providing advice to students and staff on these, and experience of student records management.

About the Department

The Research Degrees Office (RDO) is part of the Academic Registry and Council Secretariat (ARCS) within Queen Mary Professional Services. The RDO provides research degree programme administration and student services from enrolment through to examination and award of degree.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time, initially fixed for 9 months, with an expected start date of 4 January 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,084 - £39,125 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
