About the Role

This role is required to support and assist the project Manager in delivering the Managed Service (Win10) Rollout Project. This is a high priority Project due to the security element, with the ambition to eliminate the unmanaged/self-managed devices across the Faculty Schools and Institutes. The ultimate aim is to convert these devices to QM managed devices and actively promote and adapt QM managed service across Queen Mary.

 

This role is pivotal to the Project team, to lead the Project team upon direction from the Project Manager to execute and deliver the managed service rollout as per agreed approach.

 

Stakeholder buy-in/engagement it crucial to the success of this Project.

Thus essential to promote a homogenised working environment - liaise and ensure engagement with key stakeholders as well as demonstrating efficient and effective leadership skills to the Project Team during the rollout.

 

About You

Ideally Agile/Prince2/MPS qualified, coupled with demonstrable depth and breadth recent experience in change delivery, shaping and executing large scale transformation projects.

The successful candidate should be a self-motivated IT professional with significant experience in managing and leading a team of IT professionals on delivery work streams and smaller projects.  You will have a proven track record from similar positions of delivering quality projects with the customer at the centre of all activities.  The ability to act as project lead as well as providing daily management oversight is a key skill you will possess to drive this project forward and meet deadlines. A key aspect of the role is your ability to map processes.  The successful applicant should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience built up by working in progressively more challenging project roles.

The successful candidate will be part of the Queen Mary IT Change Delivery team consisting of experienced business analysts and project managers. You will be leading a Project team of 4-5 members, whose remit will be to further support the successful delivery of this project. You will be working closely with the campus support technicians, the Infrastructure and Applications departments, our dedicated Service management team and more importantly develop strong relationships and engagement with the Faculty School/Institute Managers to deliver a successful project.

You will have the ability to interact with, engage and influence peers and other senior management of the University to benefit the project.

The IT Services function sits within the Professional Services Department and is part of the professional services group that enable and facilitate the success of our students and academics. The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 18 months, with an expected start date as soon as possible. The starting salary will be Grade 5, in the range of £38,084 - £44,807 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
