About the Role

Supporting researchers in the Centre for Tumour Microenvironment. This position is predominately for a wet lab technician and an ability to run informatics analysis (such as cibersort) and data integration experiments would be desirable. Work includes 3D tumour models, informatics analysis, immunohistochemistry, microscopy (bright field, confocal, spinning disc), omics analysis (RNASeq, Proteomics, Glycomics).

About You

You will have a Masters level degree ideally in a biomedical, biological, or biochemical field. Experience of laboratory work is essential. Research experience in glycobiology and informatics analysis would be desirable. Competency with tissue culture, and basic molecular biology techniques (RNA extraction, qPCR, western blot, immunohistochemistry, etc) is essential.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Centre: Our main mission within the Centre is to discover how to exploit the tumour microenvironment (TME) in the control of cancer growth and spread. Our central aim is to understand the biology of the human TME using novel and relevant in vitro and in vivo models in research that is always led by information from patient samples and clinical problems. We aim to harness this knowledge to identify new treatment strategies.

The post is based at the Charterhouse Square Campus in London. It is full time, fixed term appointment for 3 years, with an expected start date of October / November 2020. The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £27,742 - £34,220 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
