About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed EU Project Manager for a maternity cover position, to assist the Project Coordinator in running a Marie Skodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network, SAGEX (Scattering Amplitudes: From Geometry To Experiment).

The post-holder will provide executive administrative support for this high profile scientific research project, which comprises 8 teams from different countries across Europe, and has a total budget of around 4 million Euros.

About You

The post holder will manage a range of key activities, from finance management, committee support, organisation of training schools and international meetings, updates of the website, coordinating outreach activities, supporting the preparation and writing of periodic reports and managing communication among the teams. The post holder will be expected to exercise substantial judgement in assuring effective strategic and operational management of a range of functions, services and activities. Highly developed organisation skills and initiative will be required together with strong communication skills. 

Applicants should have a university degree or equivalent experience, as well as project management experience.

SAGEX assembles an unprecedented team of top scholars in mathematics, theoretical physics, and symbolic computation with major industry partners to train fifteen Early Stage Researchers in innovative areas of theoretical high-energy physics. The post is based at the Mile End Road Campus in London. It is a part time (28 hours/week, 0.8 FTE), fixed term appointment as maternity cover for 11 months, with an expected start date in mid-October 2020. The starting salary will be Grade 5, £38,084 - £44,807 (pro rata) per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
