Applications are invited for one of two short-term Research Assistant or Postdoctoral Research Assistant positions on sound effect synthesis, with a particular focus on demonstration, user experience, evaluation and real world applications. The responsibilities also include engaging with industry, disseminating results and working in a team of researchers.
The position is focused around procedural audio and sound effect synthesis (sound textures, environmental, ambient and impact sounds, but not synthesizing music or speech). The role involves contributing to the research, management and/or commercialisation activities as needed. The work can be tailored to the researcher (for example, putting more emphasis on commercialisation, on creating new approaches, on improving existing techniques or on building demonstrators). Research publications in journals or at conferences are encouraged.
