About the Role

Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is looking to appoint a Research Development Officer to assist with the implementation of a strategy to grow the University’s portfolio of Official Development Assistance (ODA)-compliant research, in particular through the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF).


The post holder will support researchers across all three faculties of the University, contribute to research development activities, and help to facilitate and nurture both existing and new international research partnerships. Working closely with the Research Development Manager (GCRF), they will support the development and implementation of systems to ensure ODA-compliance, monitor administrative aspects thereof, support project management processes, and monitor financial and administrative systems.


About You

The successful candidate will be a diligent, self-motivated individual with a high level of organization and experience in project management, reporting and proposal development. Experience of working in a research support role at a research-intensive Higher Education Institution (HEI) is preferable.



About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The role reports to the Research Development Manager (GCRF) and sits within an enthusiastic and friendly Business Development team that is part of QMUL’s Research Services Directorate.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is a full time, maternity cover appointment for up to 1 year, with an expected start date of June 2020. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,220-£37,076 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
