Overview:

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is the largest of six Institutes within Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 400 staff based in five academic Centres, and supports a combined total of c350 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

Applications are invited for the post of Research Manager within the Blizard Institute. Candidates must have considerable experience in supporting research in a higher education institution, NHS or research body. Working closely with the Deputy Institute Director (Research) and Director of Graduate Studies, the post holder will provide support for research activities across the Institute including; seeking funding opportunities, facilitating grant applications, supporting academics in developing impact outcomes and contributing to the development and implementation of research strategy.

Candidates will be required to have significant experience of working within an academic research environment and will have excellent analytical, financial management, communication and interpersonal skills. A proven ability to prioritise your workload and to work independently is essential. To apply for this post, candidates should be educated to degree level or have equivalent professional experience with substantial experience in a similar or related role (please refer to the job profile for further information).

This is a full time, permanent post. Starting salary will be in the range £47,325 - £52,833 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required, this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
