We have seen a period of unprecedented growth in applications to Queen Mary in the last five years and are partway through a programme to transform the service we provide to our applicants. This is an exciting opportunity to join our established management team in central Admissions - working collaboratively Deputy Heads for Undergraduate Admissions and Admissions Operations, you will support the Head of Admissions to deliver the university’s strategic objectives for student recruitment, with primary responsibility to lead and shape the delivery of our postgraduate admissions service.
Queen Mary Admissions aims to enhance the university’s reputation as a world-leading destination for study and research through the delivery of an outstanding applicant experience. You will join a team committed to transforming the applicant experience and providing an outstanding professional service to our academic community. Key to this role will be effective liaison on postgraduate admissions matters with our three Faculties and their constituent Schools and Institutes, and supporting them to meet annual objectives for the size, quality and composition of their student intake.
The ideal candidate for this position will have recent experience of working in a leadership or management role in central Admissions in a UK university and the ability to motivate teams through periods of change. You will have excellent relationship management skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with academic stakeholders and to influence and negotiate effectively in a rapidly changing context. You will be a flexible and proactive individual who enjoys working collaboratively across team boundaries and is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards in your work. As well as knowledge and experience of managing a fair and professional Undergraduate Admissions function, you will be committed to service excellence and continuous improvement, and have experience of process review and projects as vehicles of business change.
This post will be a full time permanent appointment. Starting salary will be in the range of £47,325 - £52,833 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
