Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Biochemistry.

The post-holder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School / Institute and wider university making contributions to student education and experience through curriculum development and the delivery of teaching activities in the subject area of biochemistry and other related fields. In addition contributions to the administration of key university activities including module convening and assessment and maximizing opportunities for public engagement in the subject are expected. The post-holder is expected to make important pedagogical contributions to the field and act as a champion for the subject.

This post is a Teaching and Scholarship role and the post-holder will be expected in due course to assume responsibility for leading one or more modules and take on a senior assessment role under direction of the Head of Phase One. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career and develop leadership skills.

Candidates should have a PhD in Biochemistry or related science, with experience in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level in large or small group settings with the demonstrable ability to deliver teaching at both levels with some guidance.

The post is full-time with an indefinite term contract. Starting salary will be in the range of £42,433 to £52,833 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
