About Queen Mary
Queen Mary University of London is one of the UK's leading research-intensive higher education institutions. With around 26,000 students and an annual income of £462m (of which £140m is research income), we are ranked amongst the top 100 universities in the world and a member of the prestigious Russell Group. We teach and research across a wide range of subjects in humanities, social sciences, law, medicine and dentistry, and science and engineering.
At the heart of everything Queen Mary does, is our commitment to expanding and promoting knowledge, and improving lives locally, nationally and internationally. This can be traced back to our earliest days and our proud reformer heritage in east London. We still work closely with the local community today, sharing knowledge and bringing our research to life.
With staff and students from over 160 nationalities across our community, we are one of the most diverse higher education institutions in the world, and one whose undergraduate student profile is distinctive for a Russell Group University.
Queen Mary aspires to be the most inclusive University of its kind, anywhere and staff are proud to share the following core values in support of this aspiration:
We will be inclusive and maintain our proud tradition of nurturing and supporting talented students and staff regardless of their background and circumstances, and continually enhance our strong engagement with our local and global communities.
We are proud of the difference we can all make when we work collectively.
We are ambitious and we will foster innovation and creativity, disrupt conventional thought, and respond with imagination to new opportunities to further our vision, mission and academic ambitions.
We will be collegial and promote a strong collegial community through openness, listening, understanding, co-operation and co-creation, ensuring focused delivery of our collective vision and strategy.
We will act with the highest ethical standards, and with integrity, in all that we do.

With a stated aspiration to be a leading UK University Events Team, we create innovative and professional visitor experiences that foster positive relationships, encourage collaboration and enhance the reputation of Queen Mary to all of its stakeholders. The purpose of the team is to lead, design and support a University wide events programme that celebrates our student success, showcases Queen Mary’s talented academics, promotes our excellent research and attracts the next generation of talented students. During the planning phases of these major projects the team also organise a mix of public lectures, receptions and dinners that all exist to enhance Queen Mary’s reputation. As Queen Mary’s in house events specialists, the team is also responsible for ensuring that all relevant parts of Queen Mary have the opportunity to benefit from our expertise in the service of all Queen Mary events, big and small.
