The IT Projects and Change Department are seeking an experienced Project Officer. You will need experience of managing and leading work streams and smaller projects. You will have a proven track record from similar positions of delivering quality projects with the customer at the centre of all activities. The ability to act as project lead as well as providing daily management oversight is a key skill you will possess to drive this project forward and meet deadlines. A key aspect of the role is your ability to map processes. Experience of managing assets and asset management systems will be a distinct advantage. The successful applicant should be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience built up by working in progressively more challenging project roles.
The successful candidate will be part of the Queen Mary IT project team consisting of experienced business analysts and project managers. You will be managing a team of two dedicated Project Assistants, whose remit will be to further support the successful delivery of this project. You will be working closely with the campus support technicians, the IT procurement team, the Infrastructure and Applications departments as well as our dedicated Service management team to deliver a successful project.
Following industry-standard service management processes is core to our service and you will preferably have knowledge of the relevant ITIL processes together with the ability to embed and propagate them. You will be reporting to the Asset Management Project Manager.
You will have the ability to interact with, engage and influence peers and other senior management of the University to benefit the project.
The post is full time and fixed term contract for 14 months. Salary will be in the range of £38,084 - £40,194 per annum inclusive of London allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, a generous pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
