About the Role

We are recruiting for a Project Manager to work within Queen Mary University of London Strategy Delivery Office, based on the Mile End Campus, London.


This role may also be required to assist, guide and mentor Project Managers to complete appropriate project controls including risk, issue and change management, financial tracking, planning, reporting and governance as required.


The University has published its 2030 Strategy and this role is key in reporting and assisting with a timely delivery of these important initiatives in a controlled manner to defined time, cost and quality.


About You

You will have a Prince 2 Practitioner Qualification or other Project and Programme Management Qualifications.


You will have demonstrable previous Project Management experience dealing with a varied range of complex projects with various stakeholders and work streams. In addition to this working in a demanding project management environment and an understanding of Project, Programme and Portfolio management methodology.


Experience of leading a team for the delivery of key stages of defined outcomes is essential.


About the Department

The Strategy Delivery Office (SDO) is a new team and will become the primary central source of strategic Project documentation and processes and provides advice and guidance on the practice of programme and project management and execution, via Subject Matter Experts, to ensure a consistent standard across different business practices.


The SDO is part of the Professional Services Directorate and its primary purpose is to maintain the process and reporting standards for programme and project management for strategy aligned projects. The team supplies Project Management expertise as and when required to either Project Manage an activity or provide Project Management best practice advice and guidance to the person running the project. 


We employ Portfolio, Programme and Project Management best practice principles using the industry standard MoP, PRINCE2 and MSP methodologies, but this is a pragmatic implementation which is constantly evolving, continually improving processes and related documents, ensuring relevance to the University.

The post is based at the Mile End campus in London and is full-time and permanent. The starting salary will be Grade 6, £47,325 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
