Applications are sought for a Work Experience Trainee to undertake general office duties and to act as a first point of contact for the Director’s Office. The role will be based in the Director’s Office, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London


Essential requirements for this post include GCSEs or equivalent (grade C or above) in English and Mathematics, and 2 or more A-levels (grade C or above). An understanding of Microsoft Office, email and the ability to prioritise are desirable. Experience of customer service, or working in higher education or NHS would also be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain a friendly, positive disposition are also essential.


The post is full time for 12 months.  Starting salary will be £19,938 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme, interest-free season ticket loan and family-friendly working.


The Barts Cancer Institute requires applicants to provide all certificates at interview to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).


Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.  Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
