The Academic Registry and Council Secretariat (ARCS) wishes to appoint a Governance Administrator to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Governance Team and the senior leadership team in ARCS. The post holder will provide high quality secretarial support across a range of functions, including diary management, general administration and assistance with Freedom of Information requests. The role will support the Governance Team in executing effective corporate and academic governance by providing pro-active support for key committee meetings, working closely with members of the team on specific meetings or projects as required. The post is a key point of contact for the department, and liaises with other administrative and academic units within Queen Mary, and with members of Senate, Council and its sub-committees.
The postholder will have excellent organisational and time management skills with a proven ability to deliver a varied workload to tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to high quality customer service are essential. The postholder will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a flexible approach to working, and demonstrate tact and judgment when handling sensitive information.
This will be a full-time, indefinite contract starting as soon as possible. Starting salary will be in the range £34,220–£40,194 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave plus four closure days, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
