This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, developing and delivering a combination of Information Literacy and Student Study Skills support.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Liaison Librarian to join our Teaching & Learning Support team. You will take joint responsibility for working with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at QMUL and have responsibility for developing partnerships with four constituent Schools. You will work in a team with three other Faculty Liaison Librarians and supervise the work of Information Assistants.

The primary focus of this role is to develop and deliver high quality Information Literacy skills support to students throughout the curriculum, through both teaching in person and via our virtual learning environment. Liaison with colleagues within academic departments, Student and Academic Services and other Professional Services departments to promote the library service and ensure the needs of academics and students are met is also an essential aspect of this role.

You will have excellent communication skills, a proven ability to teach information literacy skills and an ability to forge successful working relationships across teams and groups. You will be educated to degree level and hold a professional qualification in Librarianship / Information Science. A qualification in teaching or similar is desirable. You will have significant experience of working in a higher education environment and be committed to providing high quality teaching and online supporting materials to all library users.

This post is permanent and will start in February 2020. The salary for this post is Grade 5 (£38,084 - £44,807). Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, plus 4 closure days, an interest free season ticket loan and pension scheme.
