The Office of the Principal wishes to appoint an Executive Assistant to provide high-level and comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to two Vice-Principals at Queen Mary University of London. The role will focus on ensuring the smooth, efficient and effective running of the Vice-Principals’ agendas, diaries and meetings, as well as contributing more broadly to ensure that the wider Office is able to operate effectively. The role will require considerable initiative, judgement and adaptability to decide on appropriate courses of action and to react to changing circumstances.

This role will provide a central point of contact for the Vice-Principals. As such, the post holder will liaise with a wide range of people at a very senior level in Queen Mary and at partner organisations and therefore will be expected to represent the Office of the Principal and the institution in a professional, efficient and courteous manner. The post holder is expected to maintain complete confidentiality at all times.

As a key member of the administrative function in the Office of the Principal, the post holder will engage daily in activities to support the smooth and efficient running of the overall office as part of its Executive Assistant team.

The members of the senior team assigned to each Executive Assistant may change from time to time. This will not alter the nature of the work expected of the Executive Assistant.

The post is full time and is a Grade 4 appointment, with salary in the range £34,220 - £40,194 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
