Applications are sought for a Research Technician to provide technical support to the development of novel oncolytic virotherapies for treatment of cancer project to enable members to efficiently carry out their research projects. The research will be based in the Centre for Biomarkers & Biotherapeutics, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
The postholder must have a BSc or equivalent in a biological or related science. Essential requirements for this post include experience of working in a biomedical research laboratory, as well as strong experience in immunology. Knowledge in the field of a wide range of tissue culture techniques, animal experiments and immunological assays would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.
The post is a full time, fixed term position for 30 months. Starting salary will be in the Grade 3 range £28,702-£30,245 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
The Barts Cancer Institute requires applicants to provide all certificates at interview to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
