Overview:

Applications are sought for a Tissue Bank Acquisition Team Leader to co-ordinate day-to day activities of the Operational Centre (OC) of the Breast Cancer Now Tissue Bank Acquisition Officers. The successful applicant will have experience of obtaining informed consent from patients and in handling solid tissue and bodily fluids in oncology research environment. The research will be based in the Centre for Tumoue Biology, Barts Cancer Institute, Charterhouse Square within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.

Essential requirements for this post include a minimum of 2 A Levels in Biology or Chemistry, working knowledge of Human Tissue Act, Principles of Good Clinical Practice, General Data Protection Regulation and research governance framework legislation. Experience with with developing Standard Operating Procedures would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

The post is full time and fixed term for 36 months. The post holder will be expected to start on 1st September 2019. Starting salary will be in the range £27,251-£33,615 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
