Applications are sought for a Postdoctorial Research Assistant maternity leave cover post to investigate the diagnostic value of platelet molecular changes for prostate cancer. The successful applicant should have a PhD in a relevant subject area. The research will be based in the Centre for Molecular Oncology, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include significant research laboratory experience in biomarker study and/or translational molecular study and knowledge of molecular analysis techniques.Experience with clinical sample collection and processing and miRNA quantification would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.
The post is full time for 8 months starting as soon as possible. Starting salary will be in the range (£33,615- £39,483) per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave pro rata, a defined benefit pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
