The Careers and Enterprise team develops the employability of Queen Mary University of London students and graduates through a portfolio of services including a programme of support for entrepreneurs.
Our Enterprise Manager leads this programme, ensuring quality and relevance of provision. The programme supports c. 500 students each year to develop entrepreneurial skills and to launch business ideas via networking and hack events, one-to-one advice, seed funding competitions and incubator programmes.
The Enterprise Manager line manages an Enterprise Adviser and manages the enterprise budget. The Enterprise Manager also delivers a significant proportion of the programme, designing training events, guiding students in one-to-one appointments and engaging a vital network of external experts who co-deliver support.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the challenges of setting up a business or social enterprise, gained through experience as an entrepreneur or enterprise educator. We are seeking a candidate who will be both a reliable programme manager and an able adviser to student entrepreneurs. Essential skills include planning, guidance skills and accurate and persuasive written communication (to engage students and report to stakeholders). Candidates must be able to evidence success in coordinating programmes or projects (in or out of Higher Education), and in maintaining stakeholder relationships.
The role is full-time at 35 hours per week and is a permanent contract. Salary will be in the range of £37,411 - £44,015 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave and pension scheme.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
