Part Time Receptionist


A part-time receptionist is required for 30 clinic hours per week until the end of 2019 initially to help run clinics for the UK part of an international study (short name: ORION-4) of a new injectable treatment for people with cardiovascular disease.  Following the recruitment period (until the end of 2019), the hours required per week will reduce for the follow-up phase to approximately 6 hours per week depending upon the numbers of participants recruited into the study.

Duties will include welcoming participants, providing refreshments, issuing car parking permits, dealing with travel expenses, checking participants’ personal details and general administrative support to assist the study nurse with the smooth running of the clinics.

The key requirements are a sympathetic and helpful approach to the individuals attending the clinics, some of whom will be elderly, plus excellent attention to detail to ensure that information is recorded accurately. This study is being co-ordinated by the Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) of the University of Oxford. There will be approximately 100 hospitals taking part throughout the UK.  The post-holder will be trained by the clinic.

Previous experience of dealing with patients would be an advantage.  This post is part time until end of 2019. The salary will be in the range £21,696 - £22,792 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
