The School of Languages, Linguistics and Film is looking to appoint to a Lecturer in German to deliver teaching and assessment across undergraduate and, as appropriate, taught postgraduate programmes. Duties will include convening and teaching undergraduate modules, contributing to MA provision as appropriate, (co)-supervising PhD students, co-supervision for UG research projects and undertaking administrative roles as required within the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. You will also be expected to teach on the following modules:

MA- Anglo-German Travel Writing

BA - London in Modern European Literature, Fine Art and Film; Migration in Contemporary European Literature and Film; Contemporary German Studies II (Literature & Culture), German Narrative Fiction: Text and Film; and two German language courses.

You will hold a PhD in German or have a relevant professional qualification or equivalent professional experience, together with the ability to deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The ability to work constructively and flexibly with colleagues and good organisational and communication skills are also essential.

The post is full time and fixed term for 2-years from 1 Sept 2019 to 31 August 2021. Starting salary will be £41,682 per annum. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
