Overview:

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is seeking to recruit a Faculty Education Manager who will play a leading role in developing and managing all aspects of student education services provided to our student body. He/she will play a leading role in the development and delivery of the Faculty’s student experience strategy and support its implementation within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues in our eight Schools to ensure our processes and delivery meet the needs of our students. The post-holder will support the Vice-Principal, Dean for Education and Deputy Deans to develop mechanisms to support our Schools in the following key areas: Admissions, Assessment, Quality Assurance, Student Support and Employability.

This is a strategic and enabling role and the postholder will be expected to act on their own initiative, developing strong working relationships with colleagues across the Faculty and the university, analysing data and making recommendations. The postholder will perform a range of activities and duties whilst exercising initiative and judgement in determining work priorities and scheduling tasks appropriately to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will have a good Honours degree or equivalent, significant experience of student administration and be quantitatively literate, with the ability to interrogate and interpret complex data from multiple sources to compile accessible, informative management information. A good understanding of academic teaching in higher education, and knowledge and experience of the various stages of the student cycle are essential. Experience of project/change management is desirable.

The post is full time and fixed term for 13 months, with an expected start date of 1 August 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary will be in the range of £46,489 to £49,113 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
