The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) has provided a lead in Sino-British co-operation by successfully operating degree programmes jointly with Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). These courses have been running successfully since 2004 and were the first to be approved as part of the “key university” quota by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The programmes are taught in English and based entirely in Beijing with currently around 2,700 students on them and are the first in China to be accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
We are currently looking to appoint a Lecturer in Management who is able to deliver teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, with some guidance, in at least two of the following subject areas: Enterprise Management; Product Development and Marketing or IoT Product Development and Marketing.
This post will be on a teaching and scholarship contract where the majority of the successful candidate’s workload will be allocated to teaching (60%) and the remaining time will be split equally between administration and scholarship. This post is not expected to undertake any research activity.
You will be based in London but will spend a significant amount of time in Beijing for teaching and assessment so must therefore be able to obtain a Chinese visa.
To apply, you should have a PhD or equivalent professional experience, and be able to communicate new and complex information effectively, both verbally and in writing, engaging the interest and enthusiasm of the target audience. You should also have evidence of high quality general or subject-specific pedagogical work published in appropriate renowned media.
This is a permanent, 0.5fte post and the post holder is expected to be in position by 1 August 2019. The starting salary will be in the range of £41,682-£51,899 per annum. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and an interest-free season ticket loan.
