Student Experience Officer (Fixed Term - Maternity Cover)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Student and Academic Services as a Student Experience Officer. You will work as a member of a team supporting activities improving the student experience at Queen Mary. This post will work on a broad range of activities, but will have particular responsibility for activities around the international student experience.
You will have a good understanding of the student experience in the UK Higher Education sector and previous experience in a student support role. You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as sound administrative skills and experience of dealing with multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail, along with a team working skills are also essential.
Situated within Student and Academic Services, the Engagement, Retention and Success team delivers a range of initiatives to support the continual improvement of the student experience. Activities include projects in academic faculties/schools and Professional Services, and the delivery of critical tools for identifying students at risk and supporting and enhancing their engagement.
The post is full time at 35 hours per week, which will run until the end of the maternity leave (expected January 2020). Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 - £39,483 per annum. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan. This post is available as a result of maternity leave, and it is expected that you will hold it for the full period. However, should the post-holder (on maternity leave exercise her right to) return to work earlier, then this appointment will be terminated, subject to a notice period of one month.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
