Applications are sought for a research technician to join Cleo Bishop’s group at the Blizard Institute within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work with us on an exciting high-throughput compound screen to uncover novel pro-senescence therapeutics for breast cancer. This post will be supported by the expertise within the QMUL Phenotypic Screening Facility, and involve engagement with industry.

Essential requirements for this post include experience of working in a biomedical research laboratory, as well as experience of mammalian cell culture and microscopy. Experience in drug discovery, compound screening and high content image analysis would be an advantage, but training can be provided. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.

The post is full time for 1 year in the first instance. Starting salary will be in the range £24,588 – £25,880 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
