The Department of Law established the Legal Advice Centre in 2006 in order to widen our students’ experience and to enhance the Department’s work with the community at Mile End. It is a clinical legal education initiative which engages over 200 students, 350 clients and 100 volunteer lawyers a year.  It has developed to encompass modules for students to undertake as part of their degree, projects offering advice to ex-service men, revenge porn victims and Street Law projects. The Legal Advice Centre aims to continue to be at the forefront of student led pro-bono work in Higher Education in the UK.

The LAC Administrator works under the LAC Client Services Coordinator and the LAC Projects Coordinator to assist in the day-to-day operation and running of the LAC, in particular helping to process client enquiries. 

The LAC Administrator assists in the education and development of Law Students engaging with the Legal Advice Centre and the day to day running of the Centre.   

The post is full time (35 hours per week), on a permanent contract. There is an expected start date of November 2018. Starting salary will be in the range of £27,251 - £33,615 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
