The Global Public Health Unit (GPHU) is seeking to appoint a part-time teaching fellow.

Based in the Centre for Primary Care and Public Health, GPHU is a growing teaching and research unit rooted in the discipline of public health and social medicine, with a strong orientation towards the social equity and redistributive justice.

The post-holder will work under the supervision of a lecturer to help with (a) the delivery of two taught modules on pharmaceuticals (BSc) and human resources for health (MSc); and (b) the implementation of a research project on the effects of the economic crisis on Brazil’s health system.

Applicants must have: (1) a good undergraduate degree and a postgraduate Master’s degree in a relevant health or social sciences area; (2) teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate level, and; (3) quantitative or qualitative research experience in low- and middle-income settings.  A PhD in a relevant area, any experience in pharmaceuticals and human resources for health, or knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish would constitute an advantage.

This post is a part time (0.5 FTE) and fixed-term appointment for 24 months starting as soon as possible.  Salary will be £37,411 to £40,568 pro rata per annum inclusive of London Allowance.   Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro-rata), pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.  Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
