Applications are sought for a motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Dr Horejsi group on a project focused on identification of new phosphorylation-dependent interactions of DNA damage repair proteins BRCA1, BRCA2 and XPC and elucidation of their function in DNA damage response and other cellular processes. The successful applicant will undertake laboratory research, develop the assigned project and participate in the Centre’s academic activities. The research will be based in the Centre for Molecular Oncology, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a relevant biological subject and significant research laboratory experience in biochemistry or molecular biology. Experience with DNA damage response and appropriate publication record would be an advantage. A demonstrated ability to communicate well, work within a team and maintain good laboratory records are also essential.
The post is full time and for 2 years with a possibility of 1 year extension (starting from January 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter). Starting salary will be in the range £33,615 - £39,483 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and an interest free season ticket loan.
