Within Queen Mary, the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences is a large and expanding academic unit, which provides a supportive and friendly environment and encourages interdisciplinary research. The Department of Biological and Experimental Psychology was founded in 2008 and currently comprises 18 permanent academics. We emphasise a modern interdisciplinary approach, at the interface between behavioural and biological aspects of psychology, including an emerging focus on biological and psychological roots of resilience and well-being.
We are seeking to appoint a candidate who will develop and deliver high-quality teaching in our growing BSc Psychology programme. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in the design and delivery of undergraduate teaching and research in the areas of Introduction to Psychology, History and Philosophy of Psychology, Research Methods and Statistics, Cognitive Psychology, and Emotion.
The post holder will:
- Contribute to the organisation, delivery of courses and the assessment of student achievement.
- Engage in scholarship (i.e. pedagogical studies, development of industrial contacts, outreach).
- Undertake administrative and other duties of academic staff.
Applicants must have appropriate subject knowledge and have the ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level.
Candidates should have an excellent academic background with a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree and/or relevant professional qualification and/or equivalent professional experience.

The post is full time and permanent with a start date of January 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The salary will be in the range of £41,682 - £51,899 per annum and will be in accordance with experience and qualifications.
