This exciting role will support the administration of the Sport and Fitness Department at QMSU.
QMSU represents and supports over 15,000 students who make up the diverse and vibrant student body at Queen Mary, University of London. The university joined the prestigious Russell Group in August 2012.
The Sports Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the effective administration and smooth running of Club Sport, in particular coordinating the BUCS/LUSL sporting programme, and to provide support to the sports clubs to ensure their smooth and effective operation. The ideal candidate will be organised, have a keen attention to detail, excellent time management, competency using Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new skills.
The primary tasks of this role are assisting with:
- Enquiries and internal communications
- Record keeping and data inputting
- Implementing plans and initiatives of QMSU
- Increasing the presence, profile and reputation of QMSU within the student body, university and greater community.
- Assist in the effective administration and smooth running of Club Sport.
- Assist in the co-ordination of larger Union Events (Welcome Week, Open Days, Merger Cup, Awards Ball)
Applicants should have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with a wide range of people. Experience or familiarity of working within a sporting and/or student environment would be desirable. Candidates must have the ability to work well under pressure, prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
The post is a full time fixed term post and the starting salary will be in the range £21,696-£26,556 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, benefits pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan and membership of the Health and Fitness Centre.
