The Centre for Primary Care and Public Health (CPCPH) is the largest Centre in the Blizard Institute, employing approx 150 staff.  The Centre is shortly to become Barts Institute of Population Health Sciences.

We would like to appoint an experienced administrator:

  • To co-ordinate the delivery of the east London arm of the Research Design Service (RDS) London and provide support to RDS staff within CPCPH
  • To provide support to the AUKCAR team within the Centre including PA support to the Chair in Health Economics 
  • To provide general admin support within the Centre, including support for senior academics and some reception cover

CPCPH hosts the QMUL arm of Research Design Service London.  RDS is part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and brings together four institutions (King’s College London, Imperial College London, Queen Mary University of London and University College London) with internationally recognised expertise in applied research methods in health and social care.  It provides help to those preparing research proposals for submission to peer-reviewed funding competitions for applied health or social care.

AUKCAR is a virtual Centre, a collaboration between leading asthma researchers from 13 universities across the UK, led by the University of Edinburgh and Queen Mary University of London, working with Asthma UK, people affected by asthma, NHS partners and other organisations.

The diverse range of duties – as detailed in the job description – attached to this post require a high level of pro-activity and the ability to prioritise.  The post-holder should be able to multi-task, demonstrate flexibility and be a good team player.

The post is full-time and fixed term for six months in the first instance, starting in November 2018.  Starting salary will be £27,251 inclusive of London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
