We are seeking an Information Assistant to join our Teaching & Learning Support Team. The Team is responsible for liaison with our academic faculties and providing a wide range of engaging information skills support to our students.  The post holder will undertake the full range of duties in this team including promotional work, maintaining web pages, developing learning materials and answering enquiries


The focus of this role is to support QMUL’s students and academic staff by informing them about the services of the library, assisting with literature searching and information skills support, including finding, evaluating and referencing sources of high quality academic information. The post holder will be expected to deliver information skills training sessions, both face to face and online. They will also be involved with creating content for online modules and web pages. The post holder will be expected to work closely with team members and will have particular responsibility for supporting the Faculty Liaison Librarian for Humanities and Social Sciences.

You will have excellent teamwork and communication skills, able to use spreadsheets, Moodle or similar and web editing tools. Experience of designing learning objects and good presentation skills are desirable. You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent and be committed to providing good customer experience. Experience of working in a higher education environment would be an advantage.


This post is a part-time, permanent position, working 14 hours per-week, (working days Thursday and Friday) starting in November 2018. The salary for this post is Grade 3 (£27,251 to £33,615), pro-rata. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pro-rata, plus 4 college closure days, an interest free season ticket loan and a contributory, final salary pension scheme.


Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
