Overview:

Queen Mary University of London is a leading UK higher education establishment with a dynamic research policy that aims to expand greatly our involvement in Industrial & Public funded research to build on our impressive existing portfolio. A post has become available for a Senior Contracts & Costing Manager within the Joint Research Management Office attached to the existing Pre Award team. This presents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to assist the Head of  Contracts and Costing providing support to our academic community in achieving to strategic aims of QMUL and also the play a lead role in the future development and communications in QMUL’s Research Management System relating to contracts and costing.  The unit is responsible for providing a complete service across the three College facilities, Medicine & Dentistry, Science & Engineering and Humanities & Social Sciences. This role will specialise within the two non medical faculties working closely with Faculty Research Managers spending time working within the faculties, also spending a day weekly with the pre award team at the main Whitechapel office.  This role will supervise one Costing & Contract officer.   

The successful candidate should have specialist knowledge of all RCUK & Charitable  funding streams, experience of drafting and initiating contracts, an excellent communicator, be proficient in time management and have proven organisational skills. This is an ever changing and challenging environment and we will require someone with a high degree of competency in both numeracy and general administrative skills in order to build on the development of the service and to support any future changes.

The position is a full-time, permanent appointment with a salary range of £37,411 - £44,015pa. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
