SMD Deputy Dean for Research Integrity

Applications are invited for the role of Deputy Dean for Research Integrity at Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University.

This role is to support development and implementation of the University’s Research Integrity Strategy at faculty level, working closely with the SMD Dean for Research and Research Impact and the SMD Research Deanery (www.smd.qmul.ac.uk/research/)

The purpose of the role is to provide Faculty leadership and coordination of research integrity activities, supporting the SMD’s mission to achieve the highest standards in its research.

The role holder will be a member of the Faculty Executive and ensure that it is fully informed of emerging research integrity opportunities; both in education and research, and that these are duly represented within Faculty-level planning.

The successful candidate should have a degree and /or significant vocational experience in the fields of research integrity and standards, as well as knowledge of institutional research governance and HE-related trends elsewhere in the UK, Europe and US that are a key to research integrity.

The role is part-time (nominal 0.2FTE per week or one day a week) on a three-year appointment in the first instance.

The Deputy Dean for Research Integrity will be an active member of the SMD Research Deanery.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
