The Department of Law invites applications for the post of Finance Assistant.

The Department forms part of the School of Law which is one of eight Schools in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The School of Law has two organisational units: the Department of Law (DOL) and the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS).

The role sits within the Finance and HR team of the Department of Law.  This team is part of the Professional Services team of the Department of Law.  The Finance and HR team are expected to work closely with academic staff in the Department, PS teams in the College and other similar role holders at the CCLS.  The Law Department PS team consists of around 25 members of staff on different fractional and flexible working arrangements

This role is to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Finance Officer within the Department of Law. Under the supervision of the Finance Officer, dealing with straightforward day to day activities of processing financial materials including expenses claims forms, credit card transactions, invoices, raising POs and dealing with Teaching Associate and other temporary contracts amongst other financial activities such as monitoring budgets and prepare reports.

The post is 0.75fte, fixed term contract for 12 months. This post is available as a result of secondment and it is expected that the successful candidate will hold it for the full period. Starting salary will be in the range £27,251-£33,615 pro rata, per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave (pro rata), pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
