Applications are invited for the post of Fire Safety Adviser in the Health and Safety Directorate, Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).
The appointee will be a professionally qualified member of the Fire Safety team which has overall responsibility for the provision of an advisory and monitoring service across QMUL on the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and any relevant successor fire legislation.
The post holder should have relevant fire safety experience in a Statutory Fire Authority or in a Local Authority Planning Office dealing with fire safety including experience of carrying out fire risk assessments and compliance inspections in organisations similar in size and complexity to Queen Mary, University of London. Knowledge on physical fire precautions such as alarm installations and compartmentalisation would be required together with a high level of ability to apply this knowledge in practical situations. The candidate should be self-motivated and capable of working on own initiative with minimal supervision.
This post is full time and permanent. Starting salary will be in the range of £36,677-£46,845 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
