Apprentice Tissue Bank Pathology Technician (Bodily Fluids)
Applications are sought for an Apprentice Tissue Bank Pathology Technician (Bodily Fluids) to support BCI portfolio of tissue banks, with comprehensive, efficient and effective tissue processing, storage and distribution. The post will be based in the Director’s Office, Barts Cancer Institute, within the Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London.
Essential requirements for this post include GCSE or equivalent (including English and Mathematics, grade A-C) and a demonstrated ability to communicate well. Experience of working in a laboratory and using databases is desirable. A demonstrated ability to follow instructions, work within a team and maintain accurate and detailed records are also essential.
The post is full time and funded for 2 years. Starting salary will be £18,614 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
The Barts Cancer Institute requires that applicants invited for interview will need to provide all certificates to confirm their qualifications (specified in the Job Description).
Please note that this is a Level 3 apprenticeship and as such, those with prior attainment of a higher level in a related field may not be eligible.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
